Listen

Hi people, you remember the saying when you point at someone with your index finger, the three other fingers point back at you.  Well, sometimes we don't actually point with our fingers but with our minds and the other three fingers that point back happen to be our conscience, that still small voice that keeps saying "who are you to judge, do you think you're better?  First remove the plank from your eyes before you tell someone to remove the speck from theirs " and so on .

Listening to that still small voice can reduce so much hate and judging in the world, it could even go as far as making you a better person if you choose to treat your issue first before you begin to treat that of others, so while you are busy picking someone's errors, do well to listen to your heart, not just listen, understand what you need to do and act on it. 😉

加油!!

加油- pronounced as "Jia you " a Chinese word which translates as "add oil " but literally means "more grease (to your elbow) " , is a word used to give encouragement to people dealing with challenges.       Living in a world where no one really cares about how much effort you put to achieve success but are only concerned with whether or not you were able to be successful, self encouragement is inevitable. When you are the only one that sees that light at the end of the tunnel, though  it seems you aren't even sure if the light is still there because everyday brings new frustrations, heart aches and stress but you are the only one who can really believe in you especially when no one does. You are your only fan.      Some people on the other hand are lucky enough to be surrounded by those who tru...

The Real Position of Women

The Real Position of Women Often times, this has been a regular debate amongst people. Where should a woman be placed in the society. Some people say she should be below the man since he is her superior and of course the "weaker vessel ". This idea is particular to the "old schools " as the case may be, those that are traditional in thinking.  Others think women should be placed on the same level with the man, hence the feminist movement. They think women should enjoy the same privileges as men do so there should not be any discrimination on the grounds of sex. This idea is particular to people who claim to be " modern ", they believe time changes everything and it's best if we change with time. Come to think of it. The world has been in a state of unrest because women do not really understand where they are placed, but to me, I think a woman is as flexible as anything flexible. She is places herself anywhere ...

Our Naija Brothers in "The Abroad "

A Naija brother in "the abroad" would walk up to me say he doesn't like dating Nigerian girls. In my mind, I would be like "errmm, sorry I'm not Portuguese, Russian or even Chinese 🙄" ,  he would go on to say "I don't know why I just like you, in fact you are the first Nigerian girl I've asked out since I left naija " . You won't believe the number of guys that have said this to me. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a problem with being a Nigerian girl outside Nigeria. Is there something in the air which we unconsciously take in that probably changes us that Nigerian guys living outside Nigeria don't inhale? Abi is it just because of  "green card" ? I honestly don't know why our men would come to the conclusion that Nigerian  women are totally unworthy of their love when they are not longer in their home country. The only reason they might want to even talk to you won't be far from eating Nigerian food,...
