Fight for your Love

Fight for your Love              For my readers who are Christians, have you ever been in a position where you felt you needed to grow your relationship with God, you want something more than just pray and read the Bible, you actually want to hear him speak directly to you, as a result, you fast and pray tirelessly for a deeper understanding of Him, even gave up your old ways, things you know or feel aren't giving Him glory, you start listening to preachings online, you even delete your worldly songs and download a lot of Gospel songs.  You do all these and more, only to find yourself sinking deeper in sin after a while, you begin to repeat the evils you gave up in the past but this time, it feels worse. This could probably be because during this process, you've asked God for something but it felt like your prayers weren't answered,  so probably out of unintended rebellion, you find yourself backsliding.            Please don't give up fighting

Made in Naija

Made in Naija           Whenever we hear a product is made outside Nigeria, we immediately believe it has a better quality compared to the products produced here in Nigeria. But come to think of it, who would believe the artisans in Aba or Onitsha can produce something better than the Italian products and designers abroad. What raw materials and machines do they use to make their products last longer?  And who thinks 'Shrap' is better than 'Sharp' or 'Gucki ' is better than 'Gucci'?          The government too doesn't help. They don't fund or patronize these artisans, probably because they don't trust their quality or maybe they believe nothing good can come out of Nigeria, whatever be the case, I believe we as Nigerians can only be better promoters of our own goods. We believe  because these home made goods are cheaper, they are for the poor but that's not a right way to think.         In other foreign countrie

A heart so Pure.

Hey guys, Just read this selfless act of love and it made my eyes misty. Worth Reading..! By P Narayana Murthy My wife called, 'How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you come here and make your darling daughter eat her food? I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only daughter, Sindu, looked frightened; tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with curd rice. Sindu is a nice child, quite and intelligent for her age. I picked up the bowl. 'Sindu, darling, why don't you take a few mouthful of this curd rice? Just for Dad's sake, dear'. Sindu softened a bit and wiped her tears with the back of her hands. 'Ok, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this. But, you should...' Sindu hesitated...... 'Dad, if I eat this entire curd Rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?' 'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with mine,

The Problem with Wanting to be Heard

The Problem with Wanting to be Heard                 Have you ever been in a situation where you strongly want to air your view, probably because you feel oppressed or just because you want to talk and when the opportunity is given to you, you just end up not making sense?     I was in a bus one day with a group of people from different countries and cultures, these people were in two culturally diverse groups who knew each other based on where they were coming from.  Half way into the journey, the  first group started a song to lighten the mood and they were singing amongst themselves, the songs were mostly in English so people like me could understand and enjoy the songs as well, after a while, the second group started singing too as though it was a face off but the problem was that the song was in their indigenous language so most people didn't understand, now a once melodies environment changed to a noisy battle ground not just because the song wasn't understood b

The Real Position of Women

The Real Position of Women Often times, this has been a regular debate amongst people. Where should a woman be placed in the society. Some people say she should be below the man since he is her superior and of course the "weaker vessel ". This idea is particular to the "old schools " as the case may be, those that are traditional in thinking.  Others think women should be placed on the same level with the man, hence the feminist movement. They think women should enjoy the same privileges as men do so there should not be any discrimination on the grounds of sex. This idea is particular to people who claim to be " modern ", they believe time changes everything and it's best if we change with time. Come to think of it. The world has been in a state of unrest because women do not really understand where they are placed, but to me, I think a woman is as flexible as anything flexible. She is places herself anywhere she fits into in ord
